February - March 2011

Thomas jumped on his bike one Saturday to join Mum for a run to the playground at Christianshavn, on the edge of the old city fortifications.  It was a crisp chilly day, and we spotted lots of signs of spring.

We took advantage of some nice weather in March to visit the Vestamager Nature Center, in the company of friends Marvin and family.  It was still a little chilly for Spring, and the ground fairly boggy, but it was nice to get out and run around outside and check out the nature playgrounds.

Thomas and Marvin wasted no time climbing up into bird's nest tree house, while James and Frida went exploring.  The big brothers found some fun wood carved seats, and tore around on their bicycles between the puddles.

Besides the information center and other facilities, the nature centre boasts some themed playgrounds created by a local artist; our favourites included a huge boat with steps at both ends and giant rockpile in the middle, and a forest of skinny trees intended to give the impression of being a small bug in tall grass.

Thomas still enjoys playing with his Chuggington train and Lego, while James continues to challenge himself physically with climbing, throwing balls, jumping and clapping.

In early March, we escaped the winter greys for a lovely week in Gran Canaria - see photos here.

February 2011

Stubborn as always, James has lately been resisting going to sleep in the pram, even during a relaxing walk around the neighborhood.  Sometimes the best strategy is to keep going until he falls asleep sitting up, and wait a few extra minutes before gently laying him back!

He still loves to run into the kitchen and beg for snacks, preferably to share with Thomas - see video here.

Dad helped out with some Lego IDs.

Both boys enjoy the new bath, but James takes splashing to a new level.  The Geo-Trax train set is a current favourite with both boys.
