Our little Norwegian sanctuary in the Laurentians, between St.Sauveur and St.Adolphe d'Howard...

We made it!

Re-acclimatisation to winter weather (it was 30 degrees when we left Hawaii, and -19 the night we arrived in Montreal!!)

Fred the snowman was on hand to greet us when we arrived

The ideal vehicle if you're going to "rough it" (sure....) - our trusty rented Ford Escape never let us down

 Dining room & kitchen

Our friends Darren (who used to work with Jonathan in England but is now a happy Montreal resident) and his wife Katie joined us for a dinner of lasagna and G&Ts:

Breakfast with view

The lake and cottages under snow, as seen from the close vicinity of the fireplace

Tempting though it was to stay near the fire, we did venture out occasionally to do some exploring of the local area

View of St-Sauveur ski trails, lit for night skiing

More cottages in St- Adolphe d'Howard
